Expanding international partnerships
The CCAB’s James Pan and Timothy Kaan have returned from BioJapan in Yokohama having held face-to-face meetings with almost 30 global and Japanese pharmaceutical companies during the 3-day conference. Our thanks goes out to the Canadian Embassy in Japan, which provided invaluable help to James and Tim with additional meeting contacts and exposure for CCAB at their expo booth.
The inroads made with Japanese biopharmaceutical companies is notable as the country’s pharma market is the world’s third largest, after the US and China, and growing. The growth in this market is being driven, in part, by an increasing interest in biologics, including the newest kind of immunotherapy CAR-T therapy.
Collaboration is key to CCAB’s success. Attending meetings, such as BioJapan, allows us to showcase our antibody development expertise and identify additional opportunities to expand our international partnerships. Next on our calendar is BIO-Europe, which is taking place in Berlin from November 6 to 8.
